With roofrack or without roofrack

Just wanted to get a poll

to roofrack or not to roofrack .... both have their pros and cons

which do you like better???

Roof rack with the loaded weight (e.g. BF Goodrich spare tyre, with the weight for two men) is increasing the centre of gravity and sometimes few mm are critical before rollover, so definitely WITHOUT.

@capri - you forgot my hi-lift jack mounted on my roofrack as well :thumbsup:

Yes, sorry, additional weight and completely useless in a desert :playingsmiley:

Additionally you could have there on top also jerrycans for thirsty Peep and barrel with water for additional engine cooling needs. :yarr:

the barrel of water is located inside along with all the nuts and bolts and spare parts

the completely useless hi-lift jack does look nice when i go to dubai mall and mall of emirates :grin:

Yes to roof rack, I am looking to put one on my jeep, so when I take the family camping I can load all the tents and chairs up there and leave only food and clothing in the jeep.
Unless you want to tow a small trailer, also good for putting fire wood you find on the trail for the camp fire

No to roof rack.

Everything people usually put up there is heavy, (firewood, tents, jerry cans, etc ...), and that just raises your center of gravity and makes the Jeep easier to flip. Anything heavy should be carried low in the vehilce. Roof rack makes it too easy to violate that rule.
