This is one of the memorable drive!!!!!!. We were a small convoy of 5 car lead by marshals Hamdan, Abu Jimmy and Naser. The drive started out well with only 2 struck-ups and 1 pop-out. One thing to be highlighted is that we drove for around 35-40km which was good one!!!. really enjoyed the last leg of the trip was a fast drive.

Thanks Hamdan, Abu Jimmy and Naser!!!

Almost4X4 rocks!!

it was a pleasure meeting you all again after, for me, more than two month without desert. Our convoy was led by the great Falcon, and it was my first time as explorer :059:
At the beginning the track was quite easy, after a first stop to check the situation it was decided to increase the level, and even if the road seemed to be easy, it was necessary to use all the skills......the result were some stuck and one popout, but i am sure these situation helped a lot and added to you all something more to your skills.
As mentioned before it was my first time as a support for a Marshal, and I am happy about my today's job, with four rescue situations and another big experience to add to my special book "almost4x4 memories"
It is a special feeling, impossible to explain, but is so nice, ...after having learned so much from Almost 4x4 Founders and Marshals, to be on the other side and give a contribution to our friends and family members to grow, have fun together and make our trips safely.
All together we have still a lot to learn, today's trip is only one more step, but keep it up guys, we have the lucky to be part of Almost Family :060:
See you soon all.

Suntosh, it was indeed a memorable drive. It was a great day for our new Marshall Hamdan, who was presented with a number of situations, including several stucks, a pop-out, and an overheating engine. With assistance from Jimmy and Nasser, all problems were well handled and even me, today's king of stucks, got to pull someone out of their own stuck. Thank you, Almost, for another great day in the desert. You guys are truly the best.

If anyone from our group would care to add photos, I've created an album here:

Thank you Jeff for sharing your great pictures.

It was great drive,, we had few stucks but overall our convoy did very well led by our great Marshal Hamdan, Abu Jimmy and my self. All the drivers were driving very well and they learned how to recover a stuck car. We had a mix of driving style from side sloping, technical dunes and rally style. Hope to see you all again :038:

Guys it was fantastic trip :) we enjoyed soooo much being a part of Club Members Convoy for the first time with Almost4x4. It brought plenty of priceless hints, advices, tricks and practise, sometimes struggling but successfully after all. We are impressed by professional managing of such big team and are very thankful for so nice atmosphere :) We'd like to share our photos which can be viewed here https://picasaweb.google.com/PTeodorowi ... eOfDesert#

Looking forward to take off into sand again!!!
Big thanks to Caprihorse for great leading.

A good trip in every way, time, weather and route. started track driving at 7:55 and finished in Nazwa shops at 11:00 sharp.Three hours of pure fun covered more than 40 km in different terrain and driving style ( small technical dunes with sharp edges, medium dunes with nice slopes and semi flat rally style routes with high speed ). All the drivers did very well as i had the chance of close observation being Hamdans passenger cause my car ( Goldy ) was not ready. Very minor stucks and a single popout was the final out come of the whole trip, wich is very good performance comparing to the covered distance.
Thanks, Hamdan and Naser for pulling such a great job and all drivers for the great performance.

This time, our convoy was small, a total of 5 cars including the leading Marshal Alosh. With started off with Alosh leading, Bashar on second lead, followed by Gorgin then Madlin and I was sweeping. Alosh took us from the grounds up, starting at club member level, newbie, newbie+/++ and then into intermediate.
Upto newbie++ things were smooth but once we got into intermediate with basically only technical driving things got a bit troublesome and my car started acting like a corolla in the sand (I miss my exhaust and filter). However, we managed to climb up to the top of Iftar bawl and got a chance to play around there a bit. Gorgin took the climb from the steep shoulder and went all the way up.. it was very nice watching him do it.

From there on the way back, I moved into second lead and Gorgin was sweeping. Madlin, as through out the entire trip was unstoppable. Sadly Bashar had to leave the convoy because of oil leak (which was minor and he got it fixed before prayer time). Otherwise, the drive was an excellent technical training course that spanned around 50 Kilometers.

We reached Al Badayer shops by 10:30 am, and it was empty except for 2 tour cars.. I can't remember the last time I saw al Badayer this quiet. Tiers inflated, we headed out and passed by Nazwa shops to chat with the rest of the guys before going home.

Another great weekend thanks to Almost4x4

Was The Trip Enjoyable? (Cradle of Desert 6th April 2012)
For most people the answer is yes, but for us, is no.
We (me and my son) could enjoy it only after the trip was done. Yes it is true, at around 11:30 the trip was completely finished and both of us started to enjoy, tension, scares, worries are gone. These feelings were there during the trip all the time. Unbelievable, we did it finally.

We could complete the trip safely with the big help from you guys. You gave us the knowledge on how to drive in the sand, tips and tricks, support, encouragement and hospitalities.
Our first impression was the hospitalities from everyone as this is very helpful for us who are beginner in this field and as a new member. It makes us feel like ‘we are at our home’, part of the family. The family of ALMOST 4x4

InshaALLAH We will be back to join the other trip and hopefully we can enjoy it while doing it, not only after that.

Special thanks to:
- AlShamsi_M (White FJ): thanks a lot for the magic tips and tricks
- Omar and Ahmed (Red Jeep)
- Saeed (Blue Jeep)
- George (White FJ): thanks a lot for guiding us to the meeting point.
- Caprihorse (White Nissan)
- Desert Lizard
- Everyone, we really appreciate your nice welcome to us.
