How to clean K&N filter

I'm not sure, about such cleaning from outside. Filter is filter and has micro openings inside. Better would be to put it into a dishwasher :weather006:

Guys I dont know about the site who release it, but always the washable filters should be wash from inside out i.e pray the water from inside of the filter. As the filters are having very small holes for the air to pass by and gradually capturing the dust. The bigger particles are trapped in the outside layers while very fine are captured in the inner layers.
BY washing from inside out it is easy for smaller particles to come out as the outer layers are having bigger holes. To wash from outside only the excessive dust is removed while the water is pushing the fine dust inside which can't escape because of very small openings and thus remain trapped there.
Correct me if I am wrong.
