Hi Guys,
I am looking for a new set of rubbers for my 2012 model fortuner 4.0.
Currently i am having the company stocks(bridgestone AT duller 265/65 R16) and it has done well in the sand and now worn out.
i wanted to put bigger tires(BFG AT KO 275/75/R16) but have some doubt wether this tyre wold fit into my existing 16" RIms
please suggest some good tires suited for my car .Please help me make my decision.

If this car is your daily use car , then the BFs will not be convenient on the road although they are great for off-road ( noisy and have less traction on tarmac ) . the best solution would be a compromise between the two worlds ( on-road & off-road efficiency ) . if I am in your shoes I will go for the 265/75/R16 Ykohama geolander ATS or preferably 265/75/R16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 .

Check this set for sale on our forum, its a good compromise for on and off road but they are R 15 I think

Sorry Doctor but they are too big for the Fortuner . ( 33x12.5x15 ) and will require changing the rims to 15" .Doctor;28371 wrote:Check this set for sale on our forum, its a good compromise for on and off road but they are R 15 I think

i think Yokohama geolander ATS would fit my choice.
One more thing... the 265/75/R16, would it be ok if i go for a 275/75/R16 or 285's (if its available in the market though.......

It's not true what you are saying, 1 inch = 2.54 cm.Maddie;28397 wrote:I have seen a Foruner from another group with Stock sized Yoko Geos - with spacers.
275s mean 32 inch tires - would be too big and would drain some ower I guess. Couldn't one get 265/70s to get more width and less height?
Anyway for a fast calculation you may use following link - http://tire-size-conversion.com/metric-tire-conversion/
