Hi Everyone,

Alpies Montains drive was held last Saturday at Nahil playground with a big convoy counting 19 members with Newbies -10 supported by brave interm, advance and Shamsi & myself taking care from the sides.

@presa was the organizer and leading Marshal delivering a decent number of challenges to our newbie babies for them to learn their cars and improve their driving skills. Straight cresting, arches, medium technical areas were served in the menu. Thanks Presa for the magnificent drive and briefing cool

As expected, our new members “entertained” a lot straight cresting with multiple second tries and stucks most of them due to 2 reasons: Lack of proper momentum and releasing the gas just before reaching the tip of the dune. No too much flying though which is good. thumbsup

On my side, there was no need for further workouts during the day, I tried to support the convoy and members running like a chicken without head brigade.baka-wolf.com from one dune to the other. A power nap was required after lunch :z_z_Z: . Thanks @alshamsi_m for allowing me to practise on recoveries and delivering instructions, highly appreciated.

Only 1 out of 19 members were not able to make it due to a technical problem just right at the beginning so I believe that it went well with no “casualties”.

For those not yet familiar with the “desert or farm gates”, you know, the ones that open by saying “open sesame”, be careful when finding one open. Last week, I was about to get a new roof rack by hitting one while passing through and starting to close just in front of my eyes. As usual, there is always Shamsi witnessing all my little and not so little mistakes…he is like the Eye of Sauron, nothing escapes him. playingsmiley

See you soon.
Carlos

Hello,

I am about to post very short trip report...I came, deflated, crossed 2 dunes, inflated and went back home :)

Literally, the descent from the 2nd crest was a bit sharp and I heard some bang from suspension.

After 2nd crest I saw some liquid and it was not God's dew but leaking oil, so end of the drive.

In retrospect, maybe it was not such a bad outcome to have shocks rebuild for upcoming drives :)
