Hi Everyone,

Day 1 of the Liwa drives was finally here!

A small convoy, two newbies and a bunch of inters and of course the support of two great people! There we went in such a smooth flow with little incidents, fantastic level of the drivers!

I really enjoyed this drive and it was great to feel the soft sands in this manner again!
Hopefully more to come!

Liwa Day 1 was dedicated to the 10- level with most if not all of the drivers experiencing driving Liwa for the first time.

Liwa's sand is very soft compared to what we are used to and full of surprises.

The small VIP convoy was agile and moved at a high pace through the terrain.
The lead car kept adding additional KM's on the drive as the drivers were making exceptional progress playing safe.

Our Organizer as always kept his promise to take us all for swimming in the middle of the desert and that is what he did. FYI the water was actually cold to a point that will take your breath when you first dive in

Less but not least the time around the fire with great stories, tasteful food and good company was the beginning and the end of a driving day.

Thank you all for attending and looking forward to see you all again on other club events that are scheduled from the club on the upcoming winter months

Take care and drive safely.

Dear Almosters

Liwa Season ! I had to work all day on Wednesday so it was rather late when we were finally packed up and ready to make the trip to the camp spot. Arriving around Midnight only @PedroLeal was waiting at the camp fire to greet us. A quick chit chat and we went off to find a spot to set up our tent and get some rest before the early morning. Unfortunately i hadn't gone far enough away from the the other campers and there was lots of chatter we could hear until nearly 4am !

waking early we packed the tent and headed back to the campfire to have breakfast and meet all the other drivers. A lovely cool morning. @alshamsi_m gave the briefing and as there were only a couple of 5+ Newbies it was a VIP event for them with intermediates forming a cocoon around them. @Tomvanhouten was positioned at 2nd lead.

It was a great drive and the convoy was able to move at a brisk pace. the sand in Liwa is very soft and caused a few issues here and there with stucks and second tries but overall it went really well.

As mentioned we even managed to stop by an oasis where some brave people took a dip in the pool (camel water trough).

The intermediates were lucky to be given the chance to tackle some of the bigger arches and play a little.

The drive came to an end with smiles all around and we headed off to do some shopping at the Mall, Freshen up and refuel, before heading to our 2nd night camping spot
Until the next Adventure

Hello everyone

Unfortunately, this mega event of Liwa 3 days drives , 3 nights camping didn't start as expected because we had few newbies and ended up with TWO only.

What do you know 🤔? In Liwa we say LESS IS MORE , which means that if you have less members you can drive further 😉.

We didn't take it negative at all, we considered it as a treat for us because we can drive as much as What we want 😉.

We have 152 km on the ground for 88 km we were supposed to make so imagine the fun. Also, we had to visit the famous swimming pool in the desert and I had the chance to dip in with that 😎 water.

The day was done and we were looking forward to see the second group at night.

Till next time, keep the sand flying.

Cheers
Shamsi

P.S : If you see marshals doing something , do the same because they know better grin

The swimming pool was intended for Gazelles not camels and the guy is filling it for offroaders to get extra cash so the pool is clean and safe thumbsup
