Summer is truly upon us so I was happy to see a 6am meet time posted for todays ''Adrenaline Rush''. As requested, most of us were at Badayer shops on time and ready to go by 6.30am. Mazaaj was our leader, with the brief being a safe distance between cars and to expect a mix of technical, bowl and larger dune climbing. There was a small request for a pop out and maybe a stuck during the morning drive......and amongst us we had willing volunteers.....!!

We had a real mix of drivers today including Marshals, Crew, Advance and us humble Intermediates. Also the vast majority of 4x4's were Jeep, from an older Cherokee and a couple of TJ's to new Jk's with superchargers and of course Mazaaj's which was equipped with enough lights to guide air traffic into Dubai airport at night!

We set of at a fairly easy pace. I was 2nd lead as before on my last drive behind Al Shamsi in his Patrol many weeks ago. I had not followed Mazaaj before so was very relaxed with the initial level. As we were initially 13 cars (14 an hour later as we encountered Momo deep within the dunes) this pace was a good warm up. A quick break brought in a few requests for a more demanding drive. Almost immediately the convoy was not as fluid as before. We can only be as fast as the weakest link. With such a range of powerful cars and the fact that the sand is now hot and soft plus with the range of experienced drivers we needed to find a happy medium to keep everything moving.

This is where Mazaaj was great. There was a mix of level thrown around between the technical dunes where horsepower was not needed and the larger climbs where the 300hp boys could open up the engines. At some stage we all had a smile on our face.

Up front we had quite a few stops due second attempts from behind, a couple of stucks and one pop out. Yoghybear was performing sweep and his ever ''patient'' instructions could be heard over the radio. We also seemed to loose half the convoy at one stage but regrouped shortly afterwards! I did hear a couple of requests for more distance from some of the drivers so even at this level we can still learn! There was also the briefest of kisses between a FJ and TJ but no damage done thankfully!

All in all a great morning. Thanks Almost4x4 and all those there today for starting off my weekend with a big smile.

It was indeed a good morning. Since my car is still in the workshop I was supposed to be in the car with Zorro, but since Strawb has joined us I decided to swap and be his passanger. It was nice to spend almost 4 hours chit chatting with you bro
The drive was nice, after the first half an hour of easy warm up, Mazaaj decided to increase the level and starting from that moment the track was really interesting and challenging, we had many second try a few stuck and a popout......that means the trip was succesful!! :027:
Thanks Mazaaj for the lead, thanks Strawb for the lift, and thanks to all for joining, all in all all of you did a good job.
Look forward for the next one.
Take care and see you soon.
Cheers
Yoghy
