Camp night
I run home after being late at work, pack everything up and run down Al Khail road till Downtown till I realize...where's the flag??
So I run all the way back home, grab the flag and floor it.

I reach the meeting point 15 mins late, Hamdan tells me to deflate immediately. I do so and was then given coordinates of the camp site. All the info I get other than that is "go" :nevreness:
Official my first ever solo drive in the desert, and at night.
I saw some tracks but wanted to feel more "independent" so I decided to take my own route. It was a decent drive. I caught up with Sarookh and he was poking the dearest madame ghost but thankfully she didn't wake up and gave us a nice hug..she decided to sleep and keep it to the morning when she's fresh :devilish:

I reach the camp, Geni and Armin were there already taking care of the bonfire. Got my tent up and went to have a good time with my friends. Good laughs here and there, mainly about the famous video of Murad Al Masry(I think that was his name) and the Hashogogo shag mania.
Hamdan and Lamboo came later with hamburgers for everyone, Armin and Khatib started grilling them, then I took over from Khatib.
Yummy sandwitches, great company and beautiful weather. Life was definitely good.
I went to the car to get something then I found the bed to be too tempting. I sleep for maybe 2 hours then I wake up with something smacking my face. The weather changed from beautiful to torturous! the tent was trying to fly away, the only thing keeping it there was my weight. I tried to just take it in and sleep but it was only getting worse. Wrapped it up quickly and slept for like an hour in the car, had a tiny gap in the window open to breath, but woke up with everything covered in sand.

Drive day
Sarookh heats up his Girlfriend and showers us all with even more sand :045: thanks bro!
We have a quick breakfast and head down to the shops to meet up with the rest of the Almosters.
We have a quick breakfast and get down to business.

Our intermediate convoy had a new system. Each one will lead for a while then goes back to the end of the convoy.
Since I'm the least experienced one I informed Hamdan and he assigned me to be the first leader as the area wasn't difficult.
My first time ever to be a leader! we drive about here and there, small dunes, nothing crazy.
I reach a dune and just cross over to see that on my right there's barb wire and steel poles on the sand. I decide to stop instead of trying to continue and risking sliding on top of them, and not to risk having someone else follow me and damage their car. I try to reverse but the sand was too soft and deep so I got stuck. Hamdan advised me not to move, mighty Sarookh comes in for the rescue and flies me out and away from danger :045:

Thanks Ben for the video:

And here's a nice photo from Sarookh:

I think continue to lead till we reach Al Badayer shops, Toby takes over and gives us a wicked ride on top of massive dunes. However we had some second tries and then me and Armin got a popout at the same time as there was a really messy area, either we keep plowing through and get a popout, or go slow and get stuck. We chose the first option :008:

Ben takes the lead and we go for a nice drive on some high dunes snaking it all the way, then the good man get's stuck face first at the bottom of a dune. Luckily no damage was done while tugging him out

Sarookh then took over, and we had a good time, till my fellow passenger felt sick from all the bounciness and adrenaline popping in his vains. I tried to have him relax in the back seat, didn't really help. He then overloaded and threw up lol had to cut my trip short.
My trusty comapnions Nancy and Ben escorted me out to flat ground.

Awesome trip! another new Almost4x4 adventure for the history books! 1st solo drive, 1st lead, and first time I get a passenger to puke :011:

Thank you for EVERYTHING dearest marshals!

Sorry Geni,

I would write but i wasnt there ... I volounteered to take Nbaker out after his junior offroader was feeling sick, Soon after my brother was feeling sick :)).

Ladies and Gents ...

I thouroughly enjoyed learning with my friends Nbaker and Toby about leading a convoy.
In all honesty I had no idea what i was doing except looking at a dune and driving "fast" which was stupid cause without assessing which one 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so forth using the rollercoaster or snake method. That was my first proper large convoy. Ive been told i use the straight method!! which is very inneficient whilst in the sand.

Thank you for the opportunity and information. Even though on our way back we couldnt find the convoy and ended up going to badayer shops to find everyone gone ;).

Here is me and my little lead that led to the picture above. Its a little long so you might want to skip to ... 06:18 and then further to 17:30.

This a little clip of Toby and Nour up front and Sarookh leading.

Well, surprisingly, when it was time to swap and we stopped, they all (even Sarookh!) came to congratulate and apparently they couldn't catch up...
Hamdan, Zico, Kallas...??
