It was a pleasure meeting you during the club anniversary celebrations. Your passion and enthusiasm towards offroading is really admirable and almost infectious.

My situation is slightly similar to yours, wherein I have a family, who are all interested in outdoor activities. At the same time in your case I will request you to reconsider getting your 5 month old kid on a desert drive.

For one thing I guess you might not have a safe and suitable mechanism for restraining the child using seat belts (the kid being too young) during the drive. Secondly you never know how the child responds to the unfamiliar surroundings and some lack of facilities. Remember we are talking of a night drive and camping, and obviously the challenge becomes bigger when it is a night excursion.

Please excuse me if I sound like demotivating you, that is the least of my intentions. Ultimately you are the best person to decide on this.

Where to buy the wood from? I shall be driving from Jabel Ali. I can pick up the wood onway or may be in advance (i.e. today or tomm).

I know ENOC pumps have started selling the wood logs. Anywayz that is my last option. If I dont get from anywhere else, I shall buy from there. any better suggestions please?

After careful consideration decision has been made.......... no family on this trip a sad news but on the up side I have 5 spare seats if anyone wants to tag along. provided you have your own sleeping arrangements :)
