Hello

Anyone had problem with leak in the air conditon system on FJ Cruiser? I think it is the evaporator leaking. I'm looking for a good garage to fix this, any suggestions?
I got a price from Icon Garage to replace the evaporater, 7000dhs...

And I think that is really too much.. Any other garage that are good ?

Ole try the Almost4x4 Garage. I have seen the work they have done on a cherokee (Bombays / Mehul) and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the work.

Evaporator to exchange is a nightmare job, where the whole dashboard must come out, that's why it is a long and very expensive job. You have to find a garage which you can trust, which made such a job before successfully and not giving you after back 1 kg of bolts and nuts, saying - "Boss here are the spares..." :012:

Better, before starting this painful job, get the second opinion from another expert, if it is really evaporator problem... But do not tell them the solution, just ask to solve you problem, like you would be sitting at doctor with headache...

I had the same case with my previous Jaguar, and it took a week to fix it.

Just to have an idea, what I'm talking about here is some video...

Yeah, really looks like a nightmare.

I'll try at Toyota dealer, haven't checked the price there yet.

Check at dynatrade. http://www.dynatrade-uae.com/

They are a cheaper alternative to Al Futtaim but equally as trusted.

Forget, they'll ask for a fortune.

It was many years back, but I still remember the garage - http://www.goldengroupuae.com/html/contact.html (first top left contact) and there was a guy named Biju, who fixed it on my Jag. They asked 3000 for replacement and Al Tayer asked 6000 for a new evaporator...

Hehe, my memory is endless :011:
