Hi everyone,
“May the force be with you” saga continues with another chapter full of enriching experiences and adrenaline! This time in Nahil, second beautiful chain, with a big group of brave 5- members eager to learn more about this hobby and the way to spend half a day outdoors in the nature rather than inside a mall.
As usual, we divided the convoy with @Ehab leading the 10- and me the 5- along with the support of @David , @Daggerfall (in my convoy) and @optimus and @Rashidjass in the another. Individual briefing with members showing interest by asking questions delaying a bit the kick off by 15 min which is great, as the more we explain at the beginning the more fun and safety we will have during the drive.
Off we went towards the second dune with the usual menu for this level: Safari style, small arches & straight crests. A bit of riding on the top of flat dunes too. No time to conquer the second one though as originally planned, but not an issue.
Convoy did well, with numerous second tries and stuck cars which is normal. A bit of flying quickly fixed after briefing and more practice later on. Funny story, after debriefing the convoy about not to fly my playlist started to play Pink Floyd “Learning to fly” song so it seems that we are getting spied by google/Apple even in the desert with not network.
For new members, please be reminded that getting stuck and making second tries is normal and part of the learning process. For example, I got a second try when approaching a straight crest due to soft sand and no issue, I stopped, reversed and tried again with success. Was I embarrassed? Not at all, so you should not be either so please be mindful about that because it is for your own safety. Please reminder this: i) No flying, ii) No fighting gravity, iii) Good radio comm, iv) good distance and you will be almost 100% safe of the time.
All in all, I am quite happy with this batch and hope that most of them will become great off-roaders if they keep on practicing and following Marshals instructions. We will do our best for making sure that they have a change to go to Liwa within the next few weeks if they complete 5 drives. We did 32km with moving time of 1:40hrs in 3 hours in total meaning that level is increasing little by little.
Thanks a lot to my supporting team and convoy for joining and see you soon.
