Arrived Early to meet Dennis who kindly bought his grease gun to lubricate the drive train U joints on my car. We had a mini warm up and play on the area close to the meeting point.

Went to the meeting point on time, Carlos leading and Shamsi supporting. I was one of four intermediates supporting the convoy and was assigned second lead. Nice relaxing drive and saw a few Bambis, one pop out which we dealt with quickly and a few second trys.

Gathered after and enjoyed some Biriyani Capricorn had brought and some sweets from cookie and Bu Salems karak and coffee. Nice relaxing gathering as we watched the sunset.

Sometimes it nice just to chill in the desert and not drive higher levels. As second lead I was instructed to change the track twice after instruction from the lead car to avoid taking the convoy into hazards. 3m to the left, abort go down. Easy track but desert still has hazards and second lead must make quick decisions after instruction to keep the convoy safe

Firstly thank you @CARLOSS and @alshamsi_m for this opportunity to let us drive and also spend some time with each other. Being at home all week is really frustrating, and these drives are something refreshing.

Since this was qudra, I met @Minhaj & @hidayathshaik at the last exit, we grabbed some food and then left. @cookie also joined me this time and we reached the meeting point at 2:59PM. Was a little confused on the time, usualy the meet up and drive time are different, but this time we were late; the drive was at 3. Carloss was kind enough to give us time to deflate and join them.

The drive:

The drive was amazing. Yes, it was a simple track, but I really needed that calm and simple drive with minimal interruptions while enjoying the scene outside. I used 2nd gear almost 97% and started using momentum, slowly building up my skill set on the 4R. It was a really nice track to try out different gear ratios without the fear of not having enough power.

Thank you for all the intermediates. for the support.

Looking forward to LIWA now.

Hello everyone!

Eid Al Fitr drive was an excellent opportunity for our newbie members to complete their 5 drives required to visit Liwa next week and for the rest, a chance to drive slowly, smoothly but still having fun and enjoy Al Qudra area after a long time not driving there. thumbsup

A tentative track was advised by Shamsi and to be honest, I was a bit doubtful because last few times we drove there it was plenty of bushes and ditches so, I decided to have a look at this before getting the convoy there. To my surprise, the track was quite clean and enjoyable and even though I needed to navigate only with the compass (GPS not working at the beginning), after a while the signal came back and was able to follow the track and confirm that it was more than ok. cool

When the drive got started, our eager newbie members plus some brave intermediates showed up and off we went for some fun. At this point, I should thank to @Spyda , @mpodroid and @Aljamhi for the support and @alshamsi_m for making the convoy safe.

The best part was actually after the drive, when food, drinks and delicious deserts were shared in a beautiful sunset under the clouds and even better weather. ORLY

See you soon
Carlos

Hello Guys

Thanks to @siddharthsai for reminding me the drive was at 3 as I thought it was at 6. I left home immediately picked up my passenger @hidayathshaik and went to Last Exit where Sid was. From there we headed to the meeting point.

We quickly deflated the tires put the flag and started the drive. Carlo was leading and Shamshi was supporting and checking on everyone along with the intermediate team.

The drive was simple scenic and calm. It felt more like a relaxing recreational drive. It was quite long with flat and soft sand throughout. After the drive we all sat together at a nice spot talking and sharing food.

Special thanks to @Capricorn for bringing biryani for everyone. Also thanks to Shamshi for the famous coffee and @cookie for the desserts.

Overall it was a great gathering. It was peaceful pleasant and a perfect stress buster.

Thanks to @alshamsi_m for organising the drive and @CARLOSS for leading it also appreciate all the intermediate for keeping an eye on everyone.
