Hi everyone,
“May the force be with you” saga continues with another chapter full of enriching experiences and adrenaline! This time in Nahil, second beautiful chain, with a big group of brave 5- members eager to learn more about this hobby and the way to spend half a day outdoors in the nature rather than inside a mall.
As usual, we divided the convoy with @Ehab leading the 10- and me the 5- along with the support of @David , @Daggerfall (in my convoy) and @optimus and @Rashidjass in the another. Individual briefing with members showing interest by asking questions delaying a bit the kick off by 15 min which is great, as the more we explain at the beginning the more fun and safety we will have during the drive.
Off we went towards the second dune with the usual menu for this level: Safari style, small arches & straight crests. A bit of riding on the top of flat dunes too. No time to conquer the second one though as originally planned, but not an issue.
Convoy did well, with numerous second tries and stuck cars which is normal. A bit of flying quickly fixed after briefing and more practice later on. Funny story, after debriefing the convoy about not to fly my playlist started to play Pink Floyd “Learning to fly” song so it seems that we are getting spied by google/Apple even in the desert with not network.
For new members, please be reminded that getting stuck and making second tries is normal and part of the learning process. For example, I got a second try when approaching a straight crest due to soft sand and no issue, I stopped, reversed and tried again with success. Was I embarrassed? Not at all, so you should not be either so please be mindful about that because it is for your own safety. Please reminder this: i) No flying, ii) No fighting gravity, iii) Good radio comm, iv) good distance and you will be almost 100% safe of the time.
All in all, I am quite happy with this batch and hope that most of them will become great off-roaders if they keep on practicing and following Marshals instructions. We will do our best for making sure that they have a change to go to Liwa within the next few weeks if they complete 5 drives. We did 32km with moving time of 1:40hrs in 3 hours in total meaning that level is increasing little by little.
Thanks a lot to my supporting team and convoy for joining and see you soon.

Ehab led the 10- convoy and I took the 2nd lead position.
Was a mix of some technical, arches and snaking desert safari style.
Newbies please listen carefully to the Marshalls instructions, turn down if the car is not making it also smooth big turns not sharp turns at high speed. They could not have emphasised these points enough during the drive and it's for your own safety.
Ehab set an amazing lead with strong support from Marshalls Rashid and Optimus watching and guiding the convoy.
Always a pleasure to be in the desert with an amazing bunch of people and more seat time in my new car.

Hello everyone,
Another very enjoyable morning in Nahil and another great chapter in the “May the Force Be With You” saga organised by @CARLOSS .
This drive was a bit different for me as it was my first drive since my Intermediate upgrade where I joined the convoy in a support role, and I was given the position of second lead in the 5- convoy. That position always comes with a bit of responsibility — staying close enough to the lead to mirror the lines while keeping an eye on the convoy behind and being ready to adapt if the lead suddenly calls for a line change.
Carlos set a really nice track with a good mix of safari-style flow, straight crests and arches — plenty of opportunities for the newbies to practice the fundamentals.
Early on I had my own reminder that even the basics need regular practice. It had actually been quite a while since I last tackled a proper straight crest, and on one of the early dunes I slightly misjudged the momentum and had to call a second try. A good reminder that the correct response is exactly that — stop, reverse and try again. As always, a second try is far better than flying.
After that small wake-up call things flowed nicely and the convoy settled into a good rhythm.
One of the highlights of the drive for me was watching the progress of one of the drivers who was clearly a bit hesitant with arches. Carlos took the time to stop and work with them directly, demonstrating the correct line and momentum. After a couple of attempts (and some very enthusiastic screams from the passenger seat!) the difference was remarkable. You could immediately see the driver relax and their confidence grow, and for the rest of the drive they were flowing much more comfortably. Moments like that really show the value of the guidance and patience from the marshals.
The route itself was very well chosen — enough challenge to test everyone in different areas while keeping things safe and controlled. It was also clear how closely the marshals observe everything that is happening across the convoy, often offering helpful advice over the radio just when it is needed most.
Overall it was a fantastic drive with a great atmosphere and lots of learning happening throughout the convoy.
Many thanks to @CARLOSS for organising and leading the drive, and to the marshals and support team for the constant guidance and watchful eyes.
Looking forward to the next adventure and seeing the continued progress from this enthusiastic batch of drivers.
See you on the sand soon.
