Newbie Tools / Recovery Equipment
Hello!
Just to help everyone who's looking into getting their gear and appreciate a good quality vs price ratio:
---
Rated snatch strap: ARB Recovery Pack (includes shackles + gloves) <-- ARB Emirates Accessories 4x4 (or Amazon.ae) at ~ AED 490
Two Rated Shackles: see above
Rated Hook: Also known as Clevis Hook. I haven't found a branded one, but you can get one that matches the shackles spec for ~AED 80 at Dragon Mart (WL = 4.5 tons)
Car jack: Selta 2.5 tons <-- Selta General Trading at ~ AED 145 (I personally went for the Chinese King Tool 2 tons one for AED 100 at Dragon Mart EAF03, but that's before I got the price on the Taiwanese Selta)
Base plate for jacking vehicle: Solid white piece of wood (length: 60cm x width: 40cm x thickness: 5 cm) from any carpenter shop (Dubai = ~ AED 50) or your local garage where you usually fix your car (as a favor = ~ AED 0)
Shovel: AOR Extendable Aluminum Shovel <-- Ramy Automotive (or Amazon.ae) at ~ AED 137
Tyre deflator: TJM Digital Tyre Deflator with gauge <-- Ravon 4x4 at ~ AED 200
Air compressor: TJM Portable Air Compressor(75L / per minute, 45 mins duty time) <-- Ravon 4x4 at ~ AED 500
Communication device (Walkie-talkie): BaoFeng UV-5R Dual Band Two Way Radio <--Dragon Mart BAI05 at ~ AED 70 (or Amazon.ae/dragonmart.ae)
Mechanical tools: Black & Sage 126 Pieces tool and socket set <-- Carrefour at ~ AED 120 (completely by accident, I got mine in Ajman at AED 90)
Fire extinguisher (Dry Powder): 2kg dry powder extinguisher <-- any petrol station at ~ AED 60 or Amazon.ae at ~ AED 41 [Note: a lot of people recommend to have 3 or even 4 of them in the car)
Flag pole including flag : N/A (already had it installed)
Spare tyre in good shape: N/A (already had a brand new one)
Front & rear towing points: N/A (already had it installed)

Recommended Addition to Toolbox – Hose Clamps
Hi Everyone,
Following our recent drive to the mountains during the hot season, we experienced several cases of engine overheating, including an emergency situation where a hose clamp was urgently needed.
In light of this, it's strongly recommended to keep a variety of hose clamp sizes as part of your backup toolkit for future trips.
Best regards,
