Today's drive was most fun. The most important is safety first, and then some common mistakes one makes, that are worth pointing.
Let me remind each and every one of us that I am not a marshal, but the following are some key, can't live without basics of off-roading:
1. Communication
2. Maintaining Proper Distance
3. Consistent Speed Over Crests
Communication is something I want to emphasize. I was in car number 4, with two newbies driving ahead of me. At times, I witnessed some risky maneuvers due to inconsistent speed and difficulty controlling their vehicles. While the overall drive level was good, the frequent stops disrupted the flow, causing a disconnect between drivers and a lack of cohesion in the convoy. Once again, this is something that has to be done by all-let me say-not just marshals, for one's smooth and safe drive.
The drive also had minor difficulties that made upslopes, sideways cresting, and shifting lines a fun drive but not without some focus and skills to get right. In the future, we should all work to maintain better communication, distance, and consistency to make the drive even more enjoyable and safe.
Thanks for the buddies who made the fun.
See soon in next drive

Woke up before the alarm as i do most drive days full of excitement, the drive titled Go Fast 4 led by marshall Optimus i knew this one was going to be fun. I was positioned 6th in the convoy behind Aljamhi and had his line to follow and use as an indicator of what speed required to overcome the many arches we did today. After a few cars making risky moves and getting into situations the marshalls and founder pulled us together for a briefing. They explained that making a slightly smaller arch if the car is not going to make the bigger arch or doing a loop and having a 2nd try is a much safer option then getting stuck sideways on a dune and risking rollover. Marshall Presa also spoke about switching sides on a dune and the correct angle\speed required to this safely as he had witnessed a couple of situations reinforcing what we had been told on previous drives by other marshalls like daggerfall and Barish. Safety and execution of correct techniques are paramount in this club aswell as radio communication for everyone to have a fun safe drive.
We was blessed to have plenty of marshalls and the founder on this drive watching us like shepherds and giving us on the fly instructions, regrouping the convoy and keeping us safe as we try new things and push our limits.
Been a very enjoyable journey with this Club so far, each drive and marshall throwing there own twist in to develop us newbies into well rounded offroaders with the hope that some day we might get to the next level of intermediate. Todays drive was about getting us comfortable with higher speed we will need to ride bigger dunes
Great morning in the desert with the sand family and thanks to all marshalls, founder and support we had.

Dear Almosters
The "Go Fast" drive series is lead by @optimus with this being the 4 installment.
I was joined at the meeting point nearly 30min ahead of the offical meeting time by many egar 10+ Newbies it was a good turnout with a total of 18 cars in the convoy - our Founder @alshamsi_m Marshals @optimus , the General @Barish , the GOAT @Rashidjass and our own Ninja Warrior @presa so already you can imagine the intended level of this dirve
For support we had Advanced Driver @David floating and intermeadiates within the convoy to assit the 10+ drivers @Aljamhi @AhmadHasan @mpodroid (sweeper), and myself
The Briefing by @optimus was like the drive - FAST once the basics were explained - this is not a race, leave your ego behind, dont do anything risky play safe. I put my hand up to be 2nd Lead, a role i have undertaken several times behind @optimus so i knew what to expect. as we set off he said to me - try and stay close - but not too close !
so off we headed, hot on @optimus tail at the first climb i saw he was getting bogged in very soft sand and this meant he slowed to a crawl at the top of the dune, not knowing if he would clear the dune in time i eased off the gas and of course came to a stop ! first dune and i had to reverse down and under the guideance of @alshamsi_m the whole convoy did a big loop around - my 2nd atempt at this first climb was not going to catch me again - i floored it and easily cleared the dune. then it was pedal to the metal at a great pace folowing the lines of the lead car, high arches (soft sand) some short side cresting some drops and steep climbs @optimus was taking no prisioners ! and it was only 845am ! he hadnt even had any redbull. but the pace, sand conditions and pressure were taking a toll on the drivers with 2nd tries mounting by the minute.
The drive became a stop start affair with large gaps in the convoy and a need for us to wait for the cars to regroup before heading off again serval times - the pace was relentless and @optimus managed to throw in some really technical drops, arch climbs at a hectic pace. after my embarassment of failing at the first climb i had learnt my lesson and allowed @optimus more space in front of me. i did find i was having some power issues on the arches, during one stop i checked my tire pressue and it had climbed to 12psi ! no wonder i wasnt sticking to the walls of the arches. reduced to 9psi and the improvment was amazing. although there does seem to be a power gobbling gremlin in the Red Baron at times the power and momentum to climb is just not there - need to get that looked into.
In the end we finished the drive at a much slower pace and less technically challenging - i am sure some of the drivers we please as it gave them time to stabilize their heart rate
Well done guys everyone made it out alive and no broken cars. now you have had a light taste of why the intermeadiates refer to some drives requiring you to wear brown pants

Sorry guys, I am going to have very honest but trust me, from a constructive point of view.
I had done this same drive with Optimus before, it is normally a fantastic 10+ drive that he puts together, I even remember once thinking that "this is not a 10+, this is higher than that" but this time the convoy in general under performed in my opinion.
Many mistakes coming from many different angles:
- dangerous crossing. I had never seen in an Almost drive so many cars sliding on the crest while crossing, very dangerous, you just need a small ditch in the wrong place and that is a roll over.
- losing the track. There were 2 interm in between every newbie and interms are there to give consistence to the convoy, keep an eye on the car in front of you and always follow their tracks.
- wrong distance and pace in general with the car in front, there is no point on speeding up if after you have to brake ... this carries on towards the back on the convoy and you end up with many cars stop - starting hence losing momentum
- radio communication was very bad, it was the interms who were having to call when they saw a 2nd try, this is your job, you have to let the rest of the convoy what is happening
Good news is that it is plenty to work on plus you have amazing Marshalls that will guide you through the process!!!
See you on the sand soon!!!

HI everyone,,,
I don’t know from where I can start, from the date of announcing the trip organized by @optimus or after knowing who will join us on the trip.
A trip leading by 5 marshals (our Founder @alshamsi_m, Marshals @optimus , @Barish , @Rashidjass and @presa) & supporting by 6 rescue team (@Brett , @David , @AhmedHasan , @Aljamhi , @Mpodroi and @Moustafa19), so we can expect what the trip will be.
I reach to the meeting point & @optimus start give us the briefing that the trip will be fast & we will cross high crest & dunes so we should keep a proper distance & momentum to make a smooth movement while climbing the dunes & control our speed while shift from side to the other side.
After 45 minutes from starting the trip, our Founder @alshamsi_m took my passenger to keep me focusing on my driving.
All the marshals keep giving instructions & guidance to everyone to continue the trip in a safe mood.
I did 2nd tries while I was climbing some dunes & considering the instructions for radio communication between all the convey drivers.
The trip was fast with a minimum number of stop points.
Finally, we finished the trip feeling that we gained new skills & happiness with our lovely group.
Thanks to all the marshals & rescue team for usual support & advice.

Hello everyone
Generally speaking I hate waking up in the morning to drive to the meeting point but once I saw the timing that @optimus I was happy because I make it on time and fix my owning while waiting !!
The area was nice for fast pace and our leading marshal did very well. All in all it was a great warming up for the afternoon drive.
Till next time keep the sand flying
Cheers

Hello everyone,
It started really fast after a quick briefing. First obstacle came with a reformation and other followed. Needed a quick briefing to refresh the attention points.
Our lead @optimus led a perfect track with optimum level for our 10+ drivers. It was another great learning how to manage speed, how to monitor situations ahead and how to communicate effectively.
Dont forget, changing with improvement is necessary to change.
See you next time.

Tks for the pic Moustafa!
Drive was, as told by Carlos, less than ideal.
Maybe was not the best day for the convoy and they were having an over amount of 2nd tries and problems.
Anyway I believe that if the group keep coming consistently by mid winter they will have a chance to do a similar drive with a smooth pace, what is an amazing experience.
The group will know when it comes.
