Good afternoon Almosters.
I am planning to install some lights on my Jeep. What would you recommend?
Light bar on the roof or lights (bar or spot) on the bumper?
Is the light bar on the roof noisy at higher speed on the road?
What about a-pillar pods? single or dual?

What would you recommend?
Depending on your budget you can go somewhere around 1200-1500 for bar on the roof bar on the bumper and 2 corner cubes from dragon mart (TOBY'S) well built brands and a majority of members use them, highly recommended.
Or you can go higher price bracket brands like BAJA Design or RIGID Industries in the range of over 3000 - 5000 for the same set of lights.
Light bar on the roof or lights (bar or spot) on the bumper?
Light bar on the roof is mostly used as an auxiliary option, like an extra and is mostly point slightly upward to light up the whole dune. While the light bar on the bumper as on the same level/height as the headlights of your jeep will be the MOST useful option.

more of a personal choice but those cubes are VERY useful as the focus the lights on the sides giving you a far wider lit area.

The lights which are parallel to the head lights are the Off-Road lights. Any thing else ... is extra personal preference

are lights on the bumper wide enough to cover the sides? or do I need side pods which could create glares on the bonnet?

You don't really get much glare or any glare infact if they are installed properly. i had the same doubts but it is a pretty solid setup, with no glare whatso ever and a wide and bright lit area.
all i have is a one of those bars that @Alshamsi_m recommended and 2 corner cubes on top of the bonnet near the a pillars, and just for some extra lightiness personal preference i got 2 more cubes down wedged in where the fog lamps are.
basically you can get a bright enough result by one bar and 2 cubes.

@mpodroid most people feels comfortable with a offroad light heading forward, as mentioned above.
I do consider the A-pillar (or side-cube) to be a important to my car, since they assist me to understand were the dune is finishing (when you are doing a front crest). The wide range of light is very useful since I dislike the tunnel effect from having the single front light.
Shami's recommendation is the place to start. If you fell you need more light, add the top bar afterwords.
