Hi All
We all like to visit Hatta Pools from time to time
If you drive the road from Dubai to Hatta/Oman (E44) all the way to Hatta city and then you go up the sup roads it will take you to Army check point where you might get through or may not depends on the situations. But if you take the following route it will take you through easily with less hassle
1. Turn Right to the road of Hatta Pools

2. Turn Left to the road of Hatta Pools
http://goo.gl/maps/xRUim
3. Hatta Rock Pool Entrance

4. Hatta Pools
http://goo.gl/maps/ohqO7
P.S : Use Google maps to take you there
Regards

alshamsi_m the army checkpoint after hatta have stopped allowing expats through. Emiratis and Omanis may pass through. The omani checkpoint after the Shell Petrol Station now require Passports to be carried but without Visas. BUT sometimes, insurance is compulsory even to pass thru to Hatta.

Visited today and was refused entry by Omani checkpoint after shell fuel station and was advised (by not so friendly Omani guard) to use the route through Hatta town and this route is only for Omanis or people with Omani visas. Went to the Al Fay checkpoint and was advised (by a very friendly Emarati guard) to use the Omani checkpoint past Shell fuel station. So we though we will give it one more try and went back but again was advised either to come in from Hilli side by obtaining visa or get visa before hand.
We had our passports, Emirates IDs, Omani insurance cover with us but the chap at the check point didn't even bother looking at anything. Not sure if things would have been different if I was with family and not with two of my other mates. But not sure if I would waste another day on a unfruitful trip.. :(
