After hearing stories of how sensitive the airbags on the Nissan Xterra are I've been investigating how to temporarily turn them off .
Nissan have decided that their customers are 'not to be trusted when it comes to safety', so unfortunately there is no switch built in to allow us to turn it on and off !
So, my current solution is simply to remove the airbag fuse during off-roading , and replace it when back on the road.
For those that wish to do the same, the fuse-box is located inside the car in the glove box. On the right side of the glove box is a cover which when removed shows a labeled plan of each fuse . The airbag fuse is on the right-hand side and is the second fuse from the bottom.

My attempts to have install a simple switch across the fuse itself , have so far failed.
