Hi Almosters!

@Scorpio organized this advance trip.

We were 7 cars, with @Scorpio start leading, @Mabubaker , @giorgio , @rapailo , @Issa and @optimus .

The starting point, near Al Ain Airport is packed with sharp crests and soft sand. With about 1h of action, Scorpio let the Explorers and Advance drivers lead, each for 20min, what was a lot of fun too.

Due to a broken link Scorpio left us around 1h before the end of the drive, with Optimus as his wing man, while the small convoy head back to continue for a bit more.

There were a few 2nd tries, 3 popouts with everyone out of desert safe at the end. After the drive I notice that myself was the only one that didnt lead the convoy (and Optimus that left with Scorpio), so we might have to do another advance....

There were a few months since the last Advance Trip, so we should keep them more frequent!

See you all next weekend!

Don't Dare Not To Dare
Advance Level drive.

This area is well know for its sharp crest and soft patches of sand.

The meeting point was a busy place with Advance and intermediate drivers chatting over coffee. @presa coffee without cups ?????
Coming to the briefing time the 2 levels split and got their briefings to quick hit the dunes.

@Scorpio which was the organizer and lead car wasted no time with warming up. He took over the dunes on a quick pace with @optimus as a second lead and the rest of the drivers following on a last man standing style.

Drive was fast and quite. I was the first one to call in a pop-out so we all had the chance to take a break check our tire pressure which by the way it had already climb by 4 psi.

it was at the short break that the lead car announced the change of plans.
The drive now change to ALL LEAD. Each driver is to take over the lead for 20 min.

The required briefing was given (drive a level that you feel comfortable, no crazy stands, if you cannot follow go around and do it again safe).

Unfortunately we lost our organizer somewhere in the middle of the drive with a broken link so @presa took over and continue the drive until we all take our turn.

Over all it was a morning packed with action and I am quite sure that we all enjoyed except @presa who did not have enough and he went back in with the intermediates for another round.

Closing my report I would like to thank all the drivers organizer and support for the wonderful morning drive.

Until next drive stay safe and hope to see you all soon.

One of my favorite areas and best sellers from the intermediate days. First time came to this area was with @Rashidjass trademark No Pain No Gain, it was a rainy day where we got introduced to the S dune with a braking record # of 2nd tries.

Coming back to Don't Dare Not To Dare!, I reached the meeting point just before 6AM.. yes I did... I enjoyed stunning views of Al Ain dunes and Jabal Hafeet.

Fast forward to the official meeting time, the usual suspects arrived with a mix of intermediaries and advanced. We had the morning coffee of @presa by @KIMOz fancy cups.

Its, the briefing time, @Scorpio gave a short but sharp message that set all drivers in a the OH $#!T mode before even the drive starts...

While in shock, drivers went to their cars in silence,,, thinking what @Scorpio is hiding behind these dunes.

With @optimus volunteered for 2nd lead position, we started rolling into the dune with fast pace, @Scorpio did several several combos concurring the dunes from unfamiliar angles. Meanwhile, FJ started to get upset by throwing the check engine light and losing power! "Throttle position sensor malfunction", power loss was happening in random occasions,,, of course mostly when I need the power most TT TT ..
After @giorgio's pop out, lots of camp stories evolved. So to be continued at the next camp...
Thanks,
M Abubaker

Hello Everyone,

I really wanted to post the report earlier but due to hectic work routine couldn’t; but better to be late than never :you_re_kidding_right: .

So, when I planned for the drive I had the drive style in mind and then @presa gave another amazing idea and I kept both plans in the pocket :yarr: . But I wasn’t sure what should be the drive name that can match with both the plans. With a little bit of thought, I came up with this name in love .

At Advance level drives, the Marshalls can push the level as much as they can because of the confidence on the convoy members that they can manage with any challenge thrown towards them :yuush: . I had some interesting Plan-A for this drive and it was an attention-grabbing moment when I briefed the members about it grin .

Convoy followed the last man standing rule, we had a good safe drive and a very enjoyable flow wherein we waved to the intermediate convoy couple of times during the drive as they were also driving in the same area. Well, just at the very time, when I felt that the convoy is warmed up and I can start ‘playing as per Plan-A’, we had a pop-out :slow: . During the break while the pop-out was getting fixed, the Marshalls had a quick chat on the Plan B and decided to invite new Explorers, to take the lead one by one, each for a short period of time and I kept Plan-A to be executed later after reaching the M-Dune :innocent: (don’t know why we call it M-Dune though). We enjoyed some new leads but an hour before the planned end time for the drive I found out my link rod broken. So, I had to take the exit and @optimus kindly decided to leave the drive also to be my back up.

This area is amazing with a lot of potential and I am planning to take the intermediates there next time if they still have the hunger after the last drive. Thanks to Advance members who joined the drive and the congratulations to the new Explorers again thumbsup .

PS: The link rod is reinforced and the next Advance drive will come soon to execute Plan-A, somewhere in Al Ain.

Cheers

Yes, this intermediate has the hunger to go back there again for sure ... his only problem that he is going to be away for a couple of months over the summer but if in the UAE (and the car fit) of course I will be there!!!
Btw, which one is the M-Dune?, the one that needs to be crested all the way down on the descent???
