Welcome on board Wali, you will definitely learn off-roading from the ABC with this club, and have fun too. There are trips every weekend, so check often in the Newbie and Family trips section and register before the thread is closed. Regrettably, all the trips for this weekend have been fully booked, hopefully you join next week end.
Please read all the details regarding saftey and rules and required equipment so you are ready. These are the links:

Hi DL,

Thanks a lot for your very warm welcome and the links about Safety, Rules and required equipment.
It is surprising me that driving out there is not just drive and drive freely. I can see a lot reason (after reading the information from the links) why some one has to follow the rules strictly.

At the same time I feel confident there are a lot of experience off-roaders in this club.

Hopefully I can join one of the trip soon.

Thanks again and best regards,
walihali

Your have all the right to be surprised. Most people think that dune bashing is just that, bashing; you basically drive any way you like. When you are alone its you and the dunes, so bash as you wish.. however, in a convoy you have to take into consideration the guy in front of you and the one behind you, and you need to follow the TRACK, which sometimes is not as easy as you like or as challenging as you desire. The convoy forces you to drive in a specific manner. In other words, the convoy is a "system" that habituates you to proper desert driving skills.
