As per your first trip with the club, you'll have to look for the next Club Members drive. Apart from being your first drive, that will also be the chance to get your tools inspected by our marshals and, if everything will be in place, you'll get your first start and will become a Newbie.

For what concerns off road recovery services, if you are worried of getting stuck in the desert (and you will, as everybody else :) ) while driving with our club, that's why you will drive with a club: we will take care of recovering you and your vehicle, we won't let you or anybody behind.
However, you'll need to have your tools in place.

For what concerns off road insurance, it's a good thing to have if it's a proper off road insurance (covering your car in the desert regardless how far from the tarmac or from your Emirates you are).

Will join the new club member trip as you said.

Mine is a Nissan xterra offroad model which has offroad insurance coverage also . However insurance will not cover dune driving for fun or pleasure and the offroad cover is upto 1 km from the main road only . Moreover when i read some of the old threads of the club, it states that we have to register with an off road recovery service like IATC and hence raised the concerns . Thanks a ton for your clarification and assuring that no one will be left alone ... really happy for the kind words and encouragement . Eagerly waiting to see you all in the sand .......
