Nice try CAMEL.. the quality might need to be improved by playing around with the camera setting because as you mentioned it's HD camera.

Nice try,
however I suggest you to read the manual to the camera and not only press the red button. (e.g, how to switch off the time and date in video recording)
Additionally read also some tutorials to video post-production and glossary about various movie formats, video sizes, aspect ratio, etc.
Not to forget, to understand how to properly export or render your final edited video, that you can be proud of it.

Good luck. :045:

Size:

QVGA
VGA
SXGA

Any size should be fine if you want to upload it to YouTube (VGA is recommended). If you will project the video to big screen select SXGA but it will take more space in the memory.

EV
+1/3
+0.0
-1/3
-2/3
-1.0

Keep the Exposure Value (EV) to +0.0 during day drive.

WhiteBalance
Auto
Daylight
Cloudy
Tungsten
Flurescent

Use Auto White balance most of the time. but Cloudy sometimes improves the light quality.

Night Mode
ON
OFF

Night Mode should be OFF during day drive. in the night you can use night mode but not for high speed movement because the video will be blurry sometimes.

The last two settings i think i know, but any inputs and i will be greatful!!![/quote]

Guys read this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_di ... esolutions, then you can understand more about your settings. The most appropriate format is 6.3 HD (HD for Newbies) or 6.4 FHD (Full High Definition), which gives you aspect ratio 16:9, for your recordings. Your user manual shall mention what they do understand under abbreviations above.
Have on your mind, that anytime you can decrease the video size in your post-production suite, but never change the aspect ratio, otherwise you'll get 'eggheads'. Contrary, it is not possible to increase the video size in editing, when your footage is wrong. You'll get just blurry pixelation aka VHS or VGA type.

VGA setting is by standard 640 x 480 px, a very old standard, back to the first computers in 70 and then adopted in video rendering mainly for computer playing, when the power of PC was very low.
