Cherokee XJ - Roof rack problem

Hi All,
I've been having problems with the roof rack on my Jeep ever since I got. The problem being is that it is a custom made rack and therefore a very heavy one. Even putting the spare tire off didn't help in significantly reducing the weight. After the latest series of clamps (and yes, I have had new clamps custom made only a couple months ago and were significantly stronger compared to the original ones) broke, I just decided to completely remove it from the roof.
My question to fellow XJ drivers (and all other 4X4 connoisseurs) is what roof racks you use, if any. I am now looking to buy a more traditional (stock) roof rack. Prices, approx weight, number of mounting points, etc., are all well appreciated information.
Thanks,
Uros

You can get roof racks similar to what Hamdan, Abu Jimmy and Se7ess have for about 800 Dhs, these come with 3 mounting points on each side. Mine is a shorter one and I think I paid 550 Dhs for it, 2 mounting points on each side. Hamdan, Abu Jimmy and myself have the spare on top (got that customized) and haven't had problems with the roof rack. I have been on top of mine with the spare tire and it did not complain.
I am not sure about the weight though.. haven't checked that.
In any case, extra support is always required. A good idea is to place the roof rack on and in contact with the stock roof rails if you have them, it would provide significant support.
You might want to have something like this if mounting points are of interest to you:

or just mount it completely on the stock roof rails like this
