well sourcing engines and drivetrains cant be that of a challenge.....integrating newer tech to old platforms cant be that to difficult nor financially taxing....N/Patrol Y61, LCruiser70, Jeep Wrangler(again)... hell...apart from when nissan pathfinder went unibody..they went back to body on frame with pretty much same layout albeit minus rear solid axle thus the same layout used in the navara, xterra,...same is evident with the toyotas when they ditched the solid front axle on the prados and hilux same platform used on prados, hilux fj, fortunner, so new tech on old platforms shouldn't be much of a dilemma...but over pricing an item...now...that is just wrong!!!.....(i stand to be corrected on above examples)

not to mention VW used Hilux as a mule to test the AMAROK during R&D.....and how the Chevy Trailblazer looks so similar to the Toyota Fortuner
