Hi Guys,

On a semi related topic.
Been meaning to ask this for a while. what are the uses for the hook? It seems to be redundant in the presence of two shackles.

Dear Rehan,

The hook gives you the possibility to tow your vehicle hooking it directly on the chassis frame in case your tow points are not accessible or damaged. And if you have a buddy with a car that doesn't allow a shackles to be inserted, and had not his hook for any reason, you still can give help. By the way, please check if your car allows shackles. It is always better to try all the equipment before hitting the sand.

Best regards,

I encountered a similar situation once with a Ford edge that did not have tow hooks. The solution was to loop the tow rope at Ford's end.
Anyways thanks for the explanation.

BTW my car allows shackles and has tow hooks as well.
