Hi Margarita
There are no silly questions.....
The spark plugs are the thing that sparks to ignite the fuel/air mix inside the combustion chamber of your engine.
They used to be an item that needed changing every 10 000 to 20 000, but modern plugs and engines only need it at about 100 000 km !!!!
Having said that, we do work our engines very hard, so i will probably do it about 50 000 km.
One of the issues, is in a roll over type of accident in the dunes, the oil and other fluids drains into all parts of the engine.
As part of the recovery, you should check all fluids AND remove all spark plugs and crank the engine to make sure there is no fluid in the combustion chamber.
The reason is the fluids will not compress like the normal fuel/air would and you will damage your engine.
So knowing how to remove them, even if you don't replace them is a good thing.
Also, the write up is for a > 2012 JK (3,6 L Pentastar Engine), you have the 3,8 L....
Regards
Paul
PS: I will see if i can fine a YouTube video of the inner works of an engine.

Excellent link. I remember changing my spark plugs on my 1973 F100. I would stand in the engine compartment with my feet on the ground and have full access to all eight plugs. Mind you, I was a lot thinner in those days and pickups were a lot bigger.
